Let’s get to know each other better.
Here’s a fun little Q & A I put together for those of you that are curious to learn more about me and how I maximize my weekends to fuel up physically, mentally and spiritually for the week ahead!
Q & A: The Saturday Rituals Edition
Q: Wake up time?
A: With the birds around 6 (I know, I’m a freak of nature) or before the sun if I’m traveling.
Q: AM Ritual?
A: Bubble bath if I’m at home, fresh mineral water rinse or dip in a waterfall if I’m in the mountains. Always a big plant-based breakfast, and a lot of silent “me time” to meditate and connect with my soul, a vital part of remaining balanced physically & mentally. *ommm*
Q: Guilty Pleasure?
A: Spending extra time cuddled up in my comfies watching Netflix series. Watched two early this morning; Genius of the Ancient World (the episode about Confucius) and an episode of Chef’s Table with a Peruvian chef who used his native country’s natural environment to inspire culinary masterpieces.
Q: First Rule of Saturday?
A: Must have breakfast twice! I love adding in something extra sweet and sassy like juicy roasted peaches drizzled with a tart balsamic reduction! Throwing in all the bells and whistles for my tastebuds makes me feel like I’m having a little cheat day, but really, its still super healthy!
Q: Favorite Indulgence?
A: Almond butter and apple slices baked on Ciabatta at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 8 minutes or so. Add a sprinkle of cinnamon and REAL natural maple syrup? I’m done.
Q: Adored Activities?
A: Hiking, chasing waterfalls (preferably in the buff), or spending extra time lounging then hitting the Farmer’s Market for pretty & unique produce and fresh blooms.
Q: Weekend Adventure I haven’t taken yet:
A: Visiting the Woodstock Farm Animal Sanctuary! I have to make it to get some cow snuggles & goat kissies in before Fall REALLY hits here in New York and it gets all too chilly for long hours outdoors.
Q: Favorite part of Saturday?
A: Car ride naps & getting to hang with my boo. Today we’re doing a “future planning picnic” and taking out a whole bunch of snacks, markers and notebooks to veg out, budget and set joint-goals for the upcoming year (getting that head-start on January)!
Q: Book I can’t put down:
A: The Untethered Soul by Michael A Singer. I’m only half way through because I’ve had to read/underline/note through each chapter 2-3x.
Q: Tunes on Rotation?
A: There for You – Martin Garrix & Troye Sivan and Get Low – Zedd & Liam Payne
Q: Last thing I do before bed:
A: Turn on the aromatherapy diffuser and drink some ice cold water. (If I’m feelin’ extra Queen, I’ll spike it with a little lavender or thyme lemonade I have chillin’ in the fridge or drop in some fresh fruit + herbs).
Then I crack open the window and snuggle in to the sounds of Mother Earth under the moon for a heavenly nights rest! One of my best tips for good sleep: settle into bed without the TV on or your phone nearby, and your body will gently ease into that deep, restorative sleep you need.
Hope you enjoyed reading and let’s connect!
I learn a lot and get inspired by the amazing people in my little community here on social on the regular.
